Is it important that my Upfront Mediation Agreement be approved by a family court judge?
Jimmy would urge you to do so. One or both parties would need to secure an attorney to take them through the approval process which usually takes less than 30 minutes. Jimmy does not recommend that you try to navigate the family court approval system, although you may legally do so on your own, without the assistance of a professional.
Is it a good idea to have an attorney involved in the Upfront Mediation process?
You have every right to have an attorney present, have an attorney advise you as to the content of your agreement or to review your final agreement. Jimmy does not provide legal advice to either party. The extent you choose to involve an attorney on your behalf and when and if you consult an attorney, is solely up to you.
